The length of time it takes to train a dog depends on a variety of factors, including the dog's age, breed, temperament, and the type of training needed. On average, it can take several weeks to several months to fully train a dog.
For German Shepherd Service Dogs it is recommended that short daily training sessions with the owner/handler occur ongoing. Attending classes with your service dog is recommended. Once basic service dog training is complete, it is wise to continue learning experiences with your dog.
We require a 24-hour notice for cancellations. If you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment, you may be charged a cancellation fee.
At this time we offer in-home training sessions by video conferencing (for clients who prefer to train their dogs in their own environment). We are willing to utilize several different kinds of video conferencing to assist dog owners/handlers.
This enables all kinds of people to have learning experiences with their dog in their own living room! It makes training and communication with your dog happen. Training sessions do not have to be lengthy or complicated. It is to provide a learning experience that benefits the owner/handler, and their dog.
This can also be helpful for dogs who have difficulty adjusting to new surroundings. It can also be inclusive of dogs who have behavior issues that are specific to their home environment. It is also a safe training modality for dogs that are not comfortable around other dogs they have never seen or met before.
